Abibliophobia

Abibliophobia - The fear of running out of reading material. "This distance made me realize, that someday you'll just leave. And, I will be sitting in the corner under the reading lamp. Going through all those artificial words, while I have always loved studying your eyes."

Poetry Maker

I stay all alone through the night. Trying to sleep, changing my sides. Those words of whom I love, keeps me abide. Lets me into scenarios and places. Where nor this body, or these thoughts have visited. There is only this blurry image of the lovers I held in my eyes. Always trying to live into their lies. Sometimes I feel like a broken vase. Going through all the fake promises and faiths. All I know now is, that I've never loved enough. Because I've never understood what was it like, to pour everything you have on this lonely paper. And, how it feels to be erased by the solitary poetry maker.

The Paperback

The Paperback A thin paperback novel. Ah, I was not interested in. Started turning pages. Chapters after chapters. I thought of keeping it aside. But oh, I couldn't resist. I was addicted to the smell of those pages. So crisp were those edges. Slipping and falling at every comma. Sprinting, dodging every exclamations. When at your end I felt so lonely. Like an abandoned place, no one wishing to visit. Still I explored new places, new stars and some constellations unknown. "The end." There was a tear running down my cheeks. Wiping it smiling with my lips trembling weak. I didn't want that book to end. So I decided to write it myself, hugging it under the cage of my chest. "A Promise." _______________________________________________________________ The title is "You"

Stargaze

Slowly the sun sets out of the metal frame. The nature darkens while the building burns in the explosion of sparkling lights. Chirpings of the evening birds is now faded out. I woke up rubbing my eyes, looking out of the sliding glass. “Did you sleep well?” she asks over my shoulder. “Yes.” I say turning around. Still in the hangover from the last sip of alcohol, I brush my hair with a gentle blow of my fingers letting out a deep breath. “Have a bath, you’ll feel good.” She says directing me towards the washroom.                Standing naked below the shower, feeling each strike of the cold water on my head, I kept my eyes closed trying to recall the afternoon. There was a blurry image. Though it was shaken, it was sharply focused in my subconscious. Two bodies lying beside each other.             ...

The Wanting

He wanted her back, in his life. To make him smile. To make him cherish, love. To fade his worries. His silence. With a blissful laughter from her heart. All he wanted was to talk. One last time. All he wanted. All he prayed for. Was her. To make him live his life. By her side. - Rohit Nikam.

I wish my poetry could.

I wish my poetry could flow in the stream of rhythms. Locked in the haven of words. Sprinkling showers of emotions. Escaping into the sea of dust. - Rohit Nikam.

Infinite deaths

And he just sat there quite. Observing. Lost in his own thoughts. Listening to her giggly talks. Tucking her hair behind her ear. Those silky untied hair. She turned. Looked at him. Watching her blushing smile. He died. Again for the Hundredth of time. - Rohit Nikam.

Magic

To me you're some kind of magic. Appearing from thin air. Blessed by Amor. Piercing my being with a arrow, borrowed from cupid. Bewitching m. Running through my blood. Pumping my ticker. Glaring at the fantasy accompanying my thoughts. Because, you're some kind of magic. I believe. Making me escape into serenity. - Rohit Nikam

Poetry

Standing far form my sight. You seemed to be a burning soul. Dark and free from the treacherous world. As you came closer, your affection melted me, from the core of my breath. Swirling me into a composer of, untidy poetry. - Rohit Nikam

Ocean

Like the blues of the ocean, you wave high into my bosom. So salty. So besprent. So vast. Unexplored. I, sailing on a boat. Moving with the currents you carry. Making me lye down there, Gazing at the night so starry. -Rohit Nikam.

Dreams

Falling for that smile. regaining my senses, just with a glimpse of your eyes. Drowning in them. Deep. Yet, floating. On the shores of dreams. -Rohit Nikam

Lost

He found her beautiful. Not when he noticed her at her, at her first glance. With a sight so gaunt. It was the innocence in her eyes. The absurd smile. The flaws she carried. So confidently. So easily. The way she talked. The way she went on and on. So his swelling heart was lost. - Rohit Nikam.

The Connection

Foreseeing          I was all alone in the college canteen, trying to break my own record of 218 in the game 'Flappy Bird'. People passing by were giving me odd looks, as it was considered to be one of the most irritating games of all time. I just reached a decent 100 when the screen switched to an incoming call notifier. Sliding my thumb across the screen I answered the call, pressing the earpiece in I tried to listen to the voice on the other end. “Hello.” The voice called out.  “Hello.” “Hello..? Hello? Can't hear you... Hello?” *Network issues* “Hello... Okay now? Can you?” I said standing up.  “Yes!” The person replied, “Where are you?” “Canteen.”         The line went dead, navigating me back to the game window, where the bird stood frozen in mid air waiting for a tap on the screen. I did without any further delay, but the bird crashed on the bright green colored pipe. *Game Over*   ...

The Second Wave My heart was pounding hard while the 'Online' status of Paridhi changed to 'typing...'. It wasn't changing, I thought she was writing a long essay, 'a long critical appreciation essay'. Two minutes... Three minutes... Five minutes... Wait. Something's not quiet right. I tried going back to my conversation window, nothing. The screen stood frozen. It was then that I realized my phone was hanged to death. Software issues! Removing the battery pack, I hurriedly pushed it back into the battery compartment. No sooner I pressed and kept holding the power button, the screen came back to life, illuminating my face in the dimly lit room. Then came all the unwanted graphics provided by the manufacturer. A failed attempt to give a warm welcome to the users. A few more minutes to connect the internet and my mobile phone beeped, sending vibrations through my palms. "1 new message from Paridhi." Inhaling a huge amount of midnight oxygen ...

The Connection

Confession We were all staring at the laptop's screen, watching Aumkar and Nikhil sorting out the engagement pictures they'd captured a week ago, as they were assigned to it. We occupied the second last table towards the junior college in the deserted canteen. It was one of many other jobless evenings spent in the college premises. No sooner I stretched myself from the end of my spine to give a clumsy yawn, than my eyes noticed someone at the other end of this narrow roofed space. Hiding myself, going low on the seat and engaging in useless activity on my mobile phone, I tried ignoring. Very tactfully, I caught a glimpse from the corner of my eye. Just after some gaunt giggles and low pitched humming falling on my ears, I found Sayali storming away from Aanchal, hiding an obvious blush on her face, moving rapidly and unstably towards the junior college. A few steps and she was about to pass by us, when our eyes met. "Hey!" She waved, pasting a nervous smile on he...

The Unusual ones

Those guys. Normal, simple, the usual ones. They aren't in love! Nor in a relationship! So what do they exactly share? What is it that keeps them both attached to each other without being so keen about their feelings? Okay lets analyse the situation. The beginning. They met. Got introduced. Now were friends. Thats it. What else? Sharing thread's of messages on Facebook? Or just the increase in the conversation due to the exchange of cellphone numbers? When was the time they were struck with the lightning of caressing? Now at present. They talk. Fight on useless topics. Going topic less sometimes. Then again digging for something new. Flirting! Yes! Flirting. Its common, isn't it? Well you know it is when you're up to it intentionally. Why does one flirt? To make the person at the other screen smile just for a second? Maybe it is all worth it, when you get a text back with a blushing smiley. You know the person is blushing himself, smiling without a reason. Now that'...

The flash back  I was constantly staring at the ceiling fan, moving in a circular motion, yet not able to provide me with any supply of air, due to its speed. Though the temperature in Alibaug falls down by the night, the mosquitoes don't. Vishal was lying beside me, engaging himself in the same act, that of mine. *Lying still and straight. Hands folded behind head, using it as a double for the pillow. Eyes focused straight on the  machine  hanging on the ceiling. Empty mind.* No sooner my cell phone beeped, I jumped across Vishal, landing on the marble flooring; cracking some spilled chips and kicking the cold drinks bottles which were already gulped down by us. Reaching the window where laid  my mobile . The only place, in the entire room where it got hold of some network provided by the service provider, who  claimed  of reaching the most orthodox corners of India. “Who is it?” questioned Vishal. “The same person who was minutes ago.” I said ...

The Connection

Afternoon A lazy summer afternoon, the sun burning bright over our heads, tanning our bodies. We walked across the bridge talking on useless topics. Laughing, commenting on the posters hung across the buildings, sweating, dehydrating due to the heat. The sun poured on this side of the earth. The conversation was more about the  nonsensical  topics rather than that of flirting and romance, like most of the couples do. The person besides me was the one who made her presence in my life without even making me aware of it. It was a sudden turnover which created a strong bond between the both of us. It was just a handful of meetings when we both were together, alone, still maintaining a distance.  We kept walking till we found a place to rest ourselves on. Tired and exhausted, sitting on the concrete stretch of diversion cornering the two footpaths. The huge peepal tree, providing its shade and the continuous flow of the cold breeze in this warm afternoon. The sound of ...

The Refuge

Echos of the footsteps, falling on my ears. So silent, so numb was the corridor, with me alone. Darkness so black such no light could enter, breathing heavy, blind sighted, I kept moving in search of that unlocked door. In the corner I saw a streak of light, unfolding the black with its mighty white. It was a door which was made of gold, bright and sparkling, engraved with the finest carvings. Studded with jewels and diamonds, giving off a shimmering reflection. Possessing richness, royalty, pride and prestige, it stood high, strong in its stance, latched with platinum, locked with arrogance. I thought knocking on it, but failed. Feeling the uneasiness to bear the richness the pain behind it. I moved my hands on the shimmering gold, the precious jewels. They all together were pulling me towards them. I was the iron, they the magnet. Moving a step behind, I kept praising the beauty, so far, yet so beautiful. Turning around, I d...
